Roadtrip buddies

Life is a highway that's for sure. Can't say I really want to ride it all night long though because the best is yet to be. Don't get me wrong, I plan to be part of this life for a good long time but preferabley less than 90 years. Anyway, life is great because you get to learn and grow and experience trials. Yes this was stated with an optimistic overtone and while I am somewhat synical in nature, I do honestly believe that there is a purpose to this life. For each one of us that purpose is different, but there is a purpose nevertheless.
What I think is the coolest thing is that God lets us have roadtrip buddies along life's highway. These roadtrip buddies if you will come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes people get in our car for a while, and then get out. Others like family members are there for the long haul, even eternity.
Today I dedicate this blog to all of those awesome buddies that the Lord has blessed me with. It seems hard to narrow down the list of amazing people in my life but I can narrow down a list of lessons that I have learned from these amazing people.
Lesson one: Come What May and Love it! - whatever circumstances we are placed in our path we should embrace them.
Lesson Two: Laughing at yourself will cause a longer life. For Example: If you get dressed in the dark and don't match, just pretend you do and own it! Or, if you say something stupid, laugh out loud this will cause people to forget why it is they feel awkward and they may just laugh along. (This lesson is also illustrated in Princess Diaries)
Lesson Three: There is always time to have fun. If you aren't having fun you are doing something wrong. Life is full of work and tasks to be accomplished. But God created this life for us to have joy. He didn't say to become a stick in the mud and be boring while you're doing it. Be creative, but everything you try can be fun. If nothing else refer to lesson two.
Lesson Four: When you feel rejected, remember that Christ felt that way too. Pick yourself up and move on, because lets be honest if someone doesn't love you they don't deserve you! :)
Lesson Five: Keep In Touch with your family and friends... even if they live forever away because you will regret it if  you don't! You never know when this life will be cut short, you want your last memory of any person to be plesant and recent.
These lessons are simple but that's the why they are important to me. I have a simple mind and remember things simply. There are tons of other lessons I have learned, from others too, like charity, the proper way to judge other people (I suppose that should be to not judge them but for realistic purposes, I will leave it as it stands), how to work hard, how to pray, how identify trees, how to stop and smell the roses, etc. Thanks road trip buddies for showing me all of these, I look forward to future destinations and lessons!
