Seeing God's Hand

Today began as a very frustrating day and thing after thing was becoming upsetting. After a while I knelt by my bed and prayed my sheer anger and confusion to a kind Heavenly Father. As I prayed I expressed my pleas for help and hope. What happened next proved to me once again that God is aware of all of His children and that he knows us by name.

Drying tears from my eyes I headed down the stairs to prepare a quick lunch before work. The impression came to check my mailbox outside. It wasn't mail time and I thought it an odd, but I thought to myself "self, why not?"   So I did. Inside I found 3 brightly colored pieces of paper with "nice notes" from members of the ward (congregation). These were unsolicited but greatly appreciated. Also inside I found a handmade bookmark with a note from a neighbor reminding me to believe in myself and to believe in God. I'm not sure what inspired her to leave that there but I felt such gratitude for her kind gesture.

Next I checked my phone to see the time and make sure I wouldn't be late for work. Suddenly a text message from a former mission companion appeared on the screen. It said, "Hey comp, just thinking about you, hope life is good." Then another from my Sister-In-Law telling me a funny fun fact that made me laugh out loud.  Again, a simple message, but the timing so perfectly placed by a loving God.

God's hands just continued to show as I walked to work. I ran into a friend from church, a car actually stopped to let me walk across the street (huge miracle!) and then I passed two or three other friendly faces of  people from previous classes, or just folks I have met along the way.

It was amazing to me how my mood could change so quickly in just a short amount of time because of the love and support of other people who didn't even know that they had made a difference. But, you know who did know? Heavenly Father! He was the only person that I had talked to and the only one who knew. He sent his hands into my life! What a blessing!

My hope and prayer is that I can follow similar promptings when ideas come to my mind and somehow also become God's hands in the lives of other people. I know that God hears us, and that we matter to him. He is aware of the exact moment when we need a little encouragement and He will send it in small and simple ways. Don't miss His hand in your life today!
