Small and Simple Miracles
It has been an interesting holiday time. One that I will not soon forget, and yet one that if possible I don't really wish to relive. Work weather, and wackiness all aligned to prevent me from going anywhere for the holidays. That's right folks just me my pj's and netflix. Actually, I handled it better than I would have thought because of the amazing gift of technology. (Google hangout and facebook video chat can be real life savers it turns out)
People have come back to my home now, but are off doing their various other tasks, and for whatever reason I just felt like no one was there. I think they call this loneliness. I rushed to my room and knelt down on my knees to find the friend I knew I could rely on. God and I chatted a bit and I told him my predicament. He understood of course.

Suddenly on my phone came up a live stream from youtube. Not
exactly the answer I was expecting. I decided to click on the link anyway because you really never know. The Piano
Gal- a 14 year old from Utah was blasting her Sunday Sounds live. The first
song she began to play was Nearer my God to Thee. (http://bit.ly/2hIszlF) Besides being beautiful, it help me to realize that no matter what I could maintain at least one friendship constantly. The one with God. The live chat began and I had a 2 sentence conversation with
her Dad who runs her page. Those two sentences helped me remember that I do
have friends in the world.
A small decision a while ago to subscribe to a girl on her youtube page had allowed the Lord to answer my prayer today. It wasn't a big thing, but it was what I needed at the time. Ironically, her next song was "My Shepherd Will Supply My Need" It is my honest belief that this was what the Lord was doing for me in this instant tonight, and what He is doing always.
It made me think about other times the Lord has used small things to show me that He hears my prayers and is supplying for my need. Earlier this week I was beginning a temple shift at the Provo City Center Temple. I had recently washed my temple clothes and could not find my name tag for the life of me. After searching for what felt like a long time I gave up and figured I would have to order a new one. However, I decided to pray one more time. As I reached my hand into my bag, two tags dropped into my hand. No one except for the Lord knew about my missing items. No one but the Lord could have helped me find them.
What ways have you seen the Lord supply your need this week? Has it made you feel nearer to Him? My challenge to myself and all of us it pay attention to the small and simple miracles that happen in our lives during this new year!
